Stephani Gisi
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
July 7, 2023
events have been conducted and the domestic wells at all 47 residences have no detections of volatile organic
compounds (VOCs) above the practical quantitation limit, not including suspected lab contaminants.
Additionally, Forward has installed and continues to sample monitoring wells located between the landfill and the
domestic wells that have not been impacted by VOCs. The monitoring wells provide an early detection system for
the domestic wells to protect against the potential of plume migration in the future. For example, monitoring wells
AMW-36 and AMW-36S are located between Forward and the residential wells on Sunny Road, while AMW-33
and AMW-33S provide protection for the residential wells on Arch Road and CA-99, and AMW-35 and AMW-35S
for the residential wells on Santa Ana Way, Mariposa Road, Kaiser Road, and Jack Tone Road.
There are 16 wells located on Austin Road and Newcastle Road that should remain in the Domestic Well
Sampling and Analysis Program. All these residents have been provided residential groundwater treatments
systems (constructed in 2019)or city water connections in addition to bottled water service. Sampling of these
wells would continue to be conducted on a first quarter/third quarter semi-annual schedule and reported semi-
annually, as directed by CAO R5-2017-0703. If these wells are to be incorporated into the WDR, Forward
requests the same monitoring requirements be carried over from the CAO, which includes semi-annual sampling
and the preparation of individual domestic sampling reports on a semi-annual bases (due dates of April 30 and
October 30).
If you have questions or comments regarding the above information, please contact me at (650) 713-3632. Our
team is available for a virtual meeting next week if you'd like to discuss the comments presented in Table 1.
Kindest regards,
r
Ben Wade
Area Environmental Manager
West Area
CC.
