Forward Landfill 2 6 October 2023
GeoTracker No: L10008827999
implementation of corrective actions and groundwater remediation at the Landfill are regulated
by Waste Discharge Requirements Orders R5-2003-0080 and R5-2014-0006 (collectively,
WDRs) and Cleanup and Abatement Order R5-2017-0703 (CAO).
On 29 September 2023, Forward Inc. notified Board staff(via-email) that several volatile organic
compounds (VOC's) had been detected in groundwater samples collected in groundwater
monitoring well AMW-56 on 29 June 2023. Biweekly sampling of the well during July, August,
and September confirmed the presence of VOCs. The e-mail contained a tabulated list of VOCs
detected during the sampling events, see below. For comparison, the concentration limit for
volatile organic compounds in the WDRs is set at non-detect. Any concentration above the limit
is a violation of the WDRs.
AMW-56 Sampling results, reported by the Discharger on 29 September 2023
Trans-
Cis-1,2- 1,2
1,1 DCA 1,2 PCE TCE
Sample Date ug/I DCE DCE Dichloropropane ug/I ug/I
ug/I u /I ug/I
29 June 2023 1.7 7.5 0.17 J 0.26 J 2.2 2.7
14 July 2023 1.4 7.0 <0.5 0.20 J 1.8 2.2
28 July 2023 1.3 6.6 0.17 J 0.21 J 2.2 2.5
11 Aug2023 1.7 9.5 0.25 J 0.32 J 3.0 3.2
25 Aug2023 1.6 8.6 0.25 J 0.34 J 3.2 3.8
11 Sept 2023 2.3 12 0.33 J 0.43 J 3.8 4.5
WDR Non Non Non Non Non Non
Concentration Detect.
