(AGE) has prepared this work plan for the destruction
of groundwater monitoring wells, soil-vapor extraction wells, air-sparge wells, dual phase
extraction wells, and shallow soil-vapor wells at 375 West Hazelton Avenue, Stockton,
California (site).
1.0. INTRODUCTION
The site area is occupied by Sierra Lumber Manufacturers, a wood-products processing
and manufacturing facility. In 1988 hydrocarbon impact was detected on site during the
removal of a 1 ,000-gallon UST. Monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8, vapor extraction
wells VW-1 through VW-6, and air sparging wells AW-1 through AW-5 were installed at
the site in relation to this release designated Case #1. In 2004 a separate release on site
related to a tank of unknown size recorded to have been removed in the late 70's or early
80's was discovered. This release was designated Case #2. Monitoring wells MW-9
through MW-21, dual phase extraction wells DPE-1 though DPE-4, and the shallow soil-
vapor well SV-1 were installed on the site in relation to Case #2. MW-11 was destroyed
in April 2006. MW-10 and MW-14 were destroyed in December 2006. Well construction
details are summarized in Table 1.
A total of thirty-four (34) wells are located at the site. In relation to Case #1 , eight (8)
groundwater monitoring wells, six (6) soil-vapor extraction wells, and five (5) air-sparge
wells are located at the site. In relation to Case #2, ten (10) groundwater monitoring wells,
four (4) dual-phase extraction wells, and one (1) shallow soil-vapor well are located at the
site.
837 Shaw Road • Stockton, CA 95215
Telephone (800) 511-9300 • Fax (888) 445-8786
An Employee-Owned Company
