Author of blast plan <br /> b. Seismograph Service: <br /> i. Seismograph service should be offered for any blasting operation. <br /> ii. Seismograph service can be offered by the blasting company or by a third <br /> party. <br /> iii. Seismograph is to be specifically designed for blasting operations (Instantel <br /> Blasmate series of seismographs or equivalent) <br /> iv. Seismograph data should be available immediately after detonation via <br /> onsite printout from the seismograph or onsite processing through <br /> computer software. <br /> v. Peak Particle Velocity of detonation should never exceed 2 inches per <br /> second. <br /> c. Material Safety Data Sheets are to be provided or each explosive product used upon <br /> request. <br /> V. Blast Design: <br /> a. Blasting designs are to be written by a competent licensed blaster with experience in <br /> field applications of explosives. <br /> b. Permits and requirements of local authorities shall be implemented in blast design. <br /> c. Permits and requirements of County level authorities shall be implemented in blast <br /> design. <br /> d. Blasting designs are to provide sufficient blast pressures to exceed burst ratings of <br /> the type of casing that is to be perforated. <br /> i. Current casing condition at the time of abandonment should be considered. <br /> e. Suggested minimum charge weights: <br /> i. PVC <br /> 1. PVC Well Casings measuring'/a inch in diameter to 6 inches in <br /> diameter with a Schedule of 40 to 120 shall use a minimum of 25 <br /> grain per foot detonation cord. <br /> 2. PVC Well Casings measuring 6 inches in diameter to 12 inches in <br /> diameter with a Schedule of 40 to 120 shall use a minimum of 50 <br /> grain per foot detonation cord. <br /> 3. PVC Well Casings measuring greater than 12 inches in diameter <br /> with any Schedule size should use a minimum of 100 grain per foot <br /> detonation cord. <br /> ii.
