The 2002 Abrahamson PGAs were determined using the following attenuation models: Sadigh et al (1997), Idriss (1991, 1995), Boore et al (1997), Campbell (1997), and <br /> Abrahamson and Silva (1997). The shear wave velocity was assumed equal to 620 m/sec for Boore et al (1997) and 760 m/s for all others. The moment magnitude <br /> assumed in the model is shown above in the 3rd colum as the smaller of the two magnitude numbers (without parenthesis). An average of the median PGA values <br /> from all of the models was calculated and reported as the median PGA value for the MPE. <br />2. The 2012 Shaw PGAs were determined using the Campbell and Bozorgnia (2008) model with an assumed value of 760 m/s for VS30 to calculate the median PGA value. <br />3. PGA values were modeled with a shear wave velocity (Vs) of 455 m/s (refer to Figures 2 and 3 for determination of value). <br />5.0 Res u l t s <br />The MCE is characterized by a near-field event of 6.90 MW on the Great Valley 7 Fault located <br />approximately 59.33 km away from the Landfill site generating a PGA (median +½ standard <br />deviation) of 0.1351g; and a far-field event of 8.05 MW on the N. San Andreas Fault <br />(SAO+SAN+SAP+SAS) system located approximately 132.99 km away from the Landfill site <br />generating a PGA (median +½ standard deviation) of 0.0971g. Table 3 on the following page <br />summarizes the controlling near-field and far-field events due to the Great Valley 7 and N. San <br />Andreas Faults; and also the intermediate-field event due to the Mount Diablo Fault. The <br />median and median plus ½ standard deviation controlling ground motion spectra are presented in <br />Table 4 on the following page. The columns shaded in gray show that for spectral periods up to <br />0.50 seconds, the Great Valley 7 is the controlling event, and for periods above 0.50 seconds, the <br />N. San Andreas is the controlling event.
