SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed scope of work has been prepared to address comments 5 through 9 in the RWQCE <br /> letter. Comments I through 4 are being addressed via previously approved scopes of work. The <br /> pmprsed Wake include: <br /> • Task 1 - Soil Gas Well Installation and Sampling <br /> • 'Task 2- Soil Investigation <br /> • Task3 - Reporting <br /> Each oftbesa activities are described in the following sections. Encroachment permits and boring <br /> permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton and the LET) prior to initiation of field work. <br /> Underground utilities will be identified by a WESTDN subcontracted utility Imtw and <br /> Underground Service Alert will be notified prior to drilling. The drilling will be conducted in two <br /> days by a C-57 licensed water well driller. The upper five f of each boring location will <br /> cleared for unidentified utilities using a hand auger. <br /> 3.1 TASK 1 - SOIL GAS WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING <br /> Two permanent soil gas wells will be installed near the southeast comer of the HSA building at <br /> the locations shown in lrigurebl. Each well will have rwo separate soil vapor probes installed at <br /> different depths within the same borehole. It is assumed that one probe will he completed at <br /> approximately fi feet bgs and one will be completed at 15 me( bgs. Wells will be constructed in <br /> accordance with One California Department of "toxic Substances Control (D'1SC) July 2015 <br /> guidance document AMisory - Active Soil Gas hrvesagalions. Soil gas well installation will be <br /> performed concurrent with soil sampling activities. <br /> The soil gas wells will be installed using a hollow-stem auger rig. A continuous core will he <br /> collected for lithologic logging. No soil samples for chemical analysis will be collected from the <br /> soil gas well borings. Upon reaching a depth of 15 feet bgs, the auger's wilt be withdrawn and the <br /> deep soil gas probe will be installed. At leas( six inches of sand pack will be emplaced in the <br /> borehole priorto lowering thedeepersoil gaspmbe.
