Former Thrifty Co.Station No. 172
Workplan for Additional Soil and Groundwater Assessment
May 8,2017
emplacing concrete slurry in the bottom of the boring with a tremie pipe. A minimum of
one soil sample from the boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis. The soil
sample(s) will be sent under chain-of-custody procedures to a California State-certified
laboratory and analyzed for TPHg, TPHd, total oil and grease, VOCs, SVOCs, PAHs,
PCBs, and Title 22 Metals.
• Soil and Water Disposal. Soil cuttings and waste water generated during well
installation and development activities will be temporarily stored in DOT-approved 55-
gallon drums or a roll off bin pending profiling, transport and disposal. A licensed
disposal contractor will transport the drums to an appropriate disposal or treatment
facility.
3.2 Reporting
Following the completion of the soil boring and well installation activities, ATC will submit a
report summarizing the details and findings of the activities. The report will include the boring
logs, soil and groundwater analytical results, chain-of-custody documentation, and
recommendations for future work, if needed.
3.3 Scheduling
Once approval of this workplan has been received, ATC will confirm a schedule for field
activities. ATC will notify SJCEHD at least 48 hours prior to beginning any field activities. The
summary report will be submitted to SJCEHD approximately 45 days after the completion of all
field activities.
LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in accordance with the scope of work outlined in ATC's contract and
with generally accepted professional engineering and environmental consulting practices
existing at the time this report was prepared and applicable to the location of the site. It was
prepared for the exclusive use of Phillips 66, for the express purpose stated above. Any re-use
of this report for a different purpose or by others not identified above shall be at the user's sole
risk without liability to ATC. To the extent that this report is based on information provided to
ATC by third parties, ATC may have made efforts to verify this third party information, but ATC
cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of this third party information. The opinions
expressed and data collected are based on the conditions of the site existing at the time of the
field investigation.
