AICM' Hazard Communication Program <br /> AMERICAN CONSTRUCTION METALS KBOO14737 <br /> Hazards of Unlabeled Pi es <br /> If applicable,we will inform associates of the hazards of chemicals contained in unlabeled pipes in their <br /> work areas. <br /> Multi-Employer Facility <br /> When contractors or any other employers' workers (i.e., painters, electricians, or plumbers)will be <br /> working at ACM,the Plant Manager/Safety Coordinator will: <br /> ■ Provide the other employer(s)with access to SDSs for any of our hazardous chemicals to which <br /> their employees may be exposed to by contacting ACM's Plant Manager. <br /> ■ Provide the other employer(s)with information on any precautionary measures that need to <br /> be taken to protect employees during the workplace's normal operating conditions and in case <br /> of foreseeable emergencies. <br /> ■ Provide information on the labeling system used in the workplace. <br /> Each contractor bringing chemicals on-site must provide Management with the appropriate hazard <br /> information on these substances, including the SDSs,the labels used and the precautionary measures to <br /> be taken in working with these chemicals. <br /> California—Proposition 65 <br /> 1. California Employers-California employers must determine whether any of the hazardous <br /> chemicals in their inventory are subject to Proposition 65 requirements.The Safety Department <br /> maintains a current Proposition 65 List of Chemicals available in the Resources folder on the <br /> Shared Drive,S: Resources�Safety Department\California Proposition 65.ACM Lodi may meetthe <br /> Proposition 65 employee warning requirements by ensuring there are warning labels on all <br /> applicable products/containers or by posting warning signs in our facility. <br /> 2. Prop 65 Warning Exemptions-Proposition 65 warning does not apply to: <br /> ■ An exposure for which federal law preempts state authority <br /> ■ An exposure takes place less than 12 months from the time the chemical was officially <br /> listed in the T22 CCR,Section 12000, "Chemicals Known to the State to Cause Cancer or <br /> Reproductive Toxicity" <br /> ■ An exposure for which the employer can show that: <br /> o The chemical exposure posed no significant cancer risk, assuming lifetime exposure <br /> at the level in question;and <br /> o The chemical exposure of any reproductive toxicants will have no observable effect, <br /> assuming exposure at one thousand time the level in question. <br /> 3. Proposition 65 Health Hazards-Proposition 65 includes chemicals known to the State of California <br /> to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Proposition 65 requires employers to provide <br /> a clear and reasonable warning before knowingly and intentionally exposing anyone to a listed <br /> chemical. <br /> 5 <br />
