Lockout Tagout ( LOTO) <br /> Lockout Tagout Authorized User <br /> An "Authorized User" is a person who has been trained on the proper procedure of Lock Out Tag <br /> Out and is Authorized to do so. <br /> It is the responsibility of the Authorized user to follow the LOTO procedure to ensure their safety <br /> and the safety of the associates working around them. <br /> Lockout Tagout Procedure <br /> Lockout is a technique used to prevent the release of hazardous energy, or to prevent the <br /> hazardous energy from escaping. <br /> A padlock is placed on the appropriate energy isolating device that is in the off or closed position. <br /> Always use LOTO to de-energize machinery before starting to work on that machine. <br /> Be sure to VERIFY the LOTO has isolated the energy source. <br /> Use a Hasp, Lock, and Tag <br /> A hasp should be used during LOTO to allow more than one person to work on that machine during <br /> LOTO. <br /> There must be a Lock and Tag used for each person working on that machine, so each person can <br /> control the energy. <br />
