Hot Work <br /> Hot Work Responsibilities : <br /> Permit Originator <br /> Identifies the need for a hot work permit. <br /> Submits the request to the Maintenance Manager or Designee. <br /> Obtains the permit and ensures compliance. <br /> Permit Holder - Welder/Cutter/Grinder <br /> Conducts the work, complying with the requirements of hit procedure. <br /> Stops the operation if any new hazards become known. <br /> Fire Watch <br /> Have a charged 101b. ABC (or larger) rated dry chemical fire extinguisher on site unless already <br /> provided by the welder. <br /> Inspect the area from ground to ceiling for fire hazards and remove them or protect them. <br /> Remain at the Hot Works site for a minimum of 30 minutes checking for fire or smoke. <br />
