Aerial Lift Safety <br /> Aerial lift : <br /> Any vehicle-mounted device, telescoping or articulating, or both, which is used to position personnel at <br /> heights. <br /> Many causes of aerial lift accidents range from electrocutions, falls and tip-overs to being caught between <br /> the bucket or guardrail and an object. <br /> Aerial Lift Hazards: <br /> Electrocution <br /> Nationally, one of the most common and deadly hazards associated with aerial lifts is electrocution from <br /> contact with electrical wires and conductors. <br /> Tip-over and Collapse <br /> Ti -over and collapse are also serious hazards associated with aerial lifts, being the second leading cause <br /> O&Jury associated with aerial lifts. <br /> Falls <br /> Falling from a lift is another hazard that must be recognized, and steps taken to mitigate the risk. <br /> Collision <br /> Collision hazards can exist both overhead and on the ground. To avoid collision hazards: <br /> Entanglement <br /> Obviously, any lift has many moving parts, which create pinch and/or shear points. <br />
