collection equipment or open sample containers. All treatment equipment(Filter Press) and
vehicles in the immediate vicinity should be turned off when performing sample collection.
The following PPEshould be worn when collecting samples:
■ Clean Rubber Gloves
■ Protective clothing(overalls, work boots)
■ N95 dust mask
■ Safety Glasses
c. Frequency
As of the writing of this plan, the LAWTF has been offline for an extended period of
time due to maintenance. An "initial" sample will be collected after the treatment
plant is brought back online and sludge processing resumes normal operation. This
is anticipated to occur sometime in 2026. Samples will then be taken once every five
(5) years to keep information up-to-date and confirm the accuracy of the filter cake
profile. Additional samples will be collected if significant process changes occur.
d. Analysis
Samples will be analyzed by Fruit-Growers' Laboratory(FGL), or their approved sub-
contract laboratory. All laboratories must be ELAP accredited or equivalent. FGLwill
ensure that samples are received and shipped to anysub-contract laboratory within
the approved hold times.
All samples will be analyzed by EPAmethod 6010B/7470 apart from Mercury which
will be analyzed by EPA method 7471/7471A. Hold times forsolid samples are 28
days, no preservation.
4
