Starting July 1, 2025, all in-office CERS help will be provided at the EHD hourly rate ($179). To <br /> schedule an appointment, please call (209) 468-3420 <br /> NOTE: Please note that the Return to Compliance Certification form and Corrective Action Statements MUST be <br /> emailed to RTC@SJGOV.ORG and are NOT to be emailed to the inspector. Failure to comply may cause issue with <br /> facility compliance status. <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The following MINOR Violation was Corrected on Site: <br /> 3030007- Labeled all containers or portable tanks containing hazardous waste <br /> OBSERVATION: A 30 gallon black drum of Paint Sanding Waste/Dust was found without a label. The following <br /> information was missing: The words "Hazardous Waste", Generator name and address, the composition, physical <br /> state and hazardous properties of the contents. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: (4) Labeling and marking of containers and tanks. <br /> (A) Containers. A small quantity generator shall mark or label its containers with the following: <br /> 1. The words "Hazardous Waste"; <br /> 2. The composition and physical state of the wastes; <br /> 3. An indication of the hazards of the contents [examples include, but are not limited to, the applicable hazardous <br /> waste characteristic(s) (i.e., ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic); hazard communication consistent with the <br /> Department of Transportation requirements at 49 Code of Federal Regulations part 172, subpart E (labeling) or <br /> subpart F (placarding); a hazard statement or pictogram consistent with the Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration Hazard Communication Standard at 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910.1200; or a chemical hazard <br /> label consistent with the National Fire Protection Association code 704]; <br /> 4. The name and address of the person generating the waste; <br /> 5. The date upon which each period of accumulation begins shall be clearly marked and visible for inspection on <br /> each container; and <br /> 6. The date the applicable accumulation period specified in subsection (b) of this section begins shall be clearly <br /> marked and visible for inspection on each container. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Owner Nathaniel Lyons was provided a label, he added all the required information and <br /> placed it on the drum.
