MOMMINOWW <br /> guidelines (CCR Title 8, Section 5192), Atlas will prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) <br /> prior to the commencement of fieldwork. The Site-Specific HASP will be reviewed and signed by field staff <br /> and contractors before beginning field operations at the site. <br /> Planning and Permitting <br /> Atlas will schedule drilling subcontractors and coordinate with the laboratory for sampling containers, <br /> sample pick-up, and establish adequate turn-around-times for sample results. <br /> Prior to commencement of off-site drilling activities, Atlas will obtain an encroachment permit from the City <br /> of Stockton. If the proposed boring cannot be installed in the planned location in the City of Stockton right- <br /> of-way due to utility or other obstructions, Atlas will modify its location. <br /> Atlas will submit a boring permit applications to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD)for the advancement of the soil borings with hydropunch sampling. <br /> Underground Utility Locating and Clearance <br /> In advance of field activities, Atlas will mark the locations of the proposed boring and vapor point locations <br /> in accordance with the Underground Service Alert (USA) guidelines, and notify USA of upcoming <br /> subsurface activities in order for existing underground utilities in the area of the proposed work to be located <br /> so as to avoid contact with the utilities. Atlas will also contract with a private utility locator to confirm the <br /> locations of underground utilities in the vicinity of the drilling locations. Prior to use of drilling equipment, the <br /> off-site boring locations will be hand cleared and/or air knifed to a minimum depth of 5 feet bgs. <br /> Boring Advancement-Direct Push Drilling <br /> Five soil borings are proposed to be advanced at the site and northeast of the site. The proposed boring <br /> locations are shown on Figure 2. The borings will be advanced by a California C57-licensed drilling <br /> company using truck-mounted Geoprobe® narrow diameter, direct push technology. A field geologist will <br /> be present to log drill cuttings and soil samples from the borings. Prior to use of powered equipment, a <br /> hand boring will be advanced to five feet bgs at each boring location, to attempt to intercept any previously <br /> undetected subsurface utilities or other obstructions. Descriptions of soil types encountered will be <br /> recorded on boring logs. Soil samples will be screened with a photo-ionization detector(PID)and up to two <br /> soil samples will be collected from each boring for laboratory analyses. The soil borings will be advanced <br /> to first encountered groundwater last measured in 2024 to be approximately 31 feet bgs. <br /> Groundwater samples will be collected from each of the boreholes using a modified HydroPunch®sampler. <br /> Prior to groundwater sampling, a water level meter will be used to confirm that the drive rods do not contain <br /> water. The sampler will then be driven to approximately three feet below the desired sampling depth, and <br /> retracted three feet to expose the disposable schedule 20 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) screen and allow for <br /> groundwater to enter the HydroPunch®sampler. The water sample will be collected by lowering a %-inch <br /> diameter stainless steel bailer through the drive rods to groundwater or by using a peristaltic pump with <br /> disposable tubing. The groundwater will be bailed from the drive rods and decanted from the bailer into the <br /> appropriate lab-supplied containers. Following the collection of the sample,the drive rods will be retracted, <br /> leaving the disposable drive tip and four-foot length of PVC well screen in the hole. Following completion, <br /> the borings will be grouted through the drive rods or a tremie pipe from the total depth explored to surface <br /> grade with neat cement. <br /> All soil and groundwater samples collected will be placed in a cooler chilled with ice and transported under <br /> chain-of-custody procedures to an Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) certified <br /> environmental laboratory. <br /> 5 1 P a g e <br />
