Site 47 and identifies preliminary locations for new monitoring wells, which would be installed <br /> in conjunction with the soil remedy implementation. The expanded monitoring well network <br /> would be sampled for chemicals that may pose a potential risk to humans or wildlife, based upon <br /> a screening level risk assessment of the existing dataset. The groundwater monitoring at Site 47 <br /> will be detailed in a future work plan submitted to DTSC and CVRWQCB for review and <br /> concurrence. The groundwater monitoring work plan will include, but not be limited to, the <br /> following information: <br /> • List of new and existing monitoring wells to be sampled; <br /> • Proposed monitoring frequency and laboratory analyses; <br /> • Data quality objectives and data evaluation methodology, which may include <br /> statistical evaluation and comparison to appropriate screening criteria(e.g., risk-based <br /> criteria and background threshold values2); and <br /> • Reporting frequency. <br /> Section 4.5 briefly explains why the soil remedy is unlikely to affect future groundwater <br /> conditions. The Remedial Design and Implementation Plan (RDIP)will identify contingency <br /> actions to validate this assumption. <br /> Additionally, groundwater use at Site 47 is restricted in accordance with the Pre-Decisional LUC <br /> that is described in Section 1.2. As described in Section 6, the Pre-Decisional LUC will remain <br /> in full force and effect until revised and replaced by the State. <br /> 2 Background threshold values(BTVs)for metals in groundwater at RRI have not been established. The Port's <br /> forthcoming site-wide analysis of background concentrations will determine the need for BTVs to inform future site <br /> management decisions. <br /> Site 47 RAP for Soil 8 October 2023 <br />
