Ms. Marilyn Petruescu <br /> September 30, 2024 <br /> • Advance three confirmation borings near the historical boring locations in the vicinity of the UST <br /> excavation to evaluate the current concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil with respect to the <br /> historical data. <br /> • Prepare a Site Investigation Summary and Well Installation Report. <br /> Pre-field activities, field activities, and reporting associated with the proposed scope of work are described in the <br /> following sections. <br /> Pre-Field Activities <br /> Prior to site investigation activities, underground utility clearance and permitting will be conducted as described in <br /> the below sections. <br /> Health and Safety <br /> The Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) outlining general health and safety procedures followed at the <br /> Site and will be reviewed by Arcadis field staff and the subcontractor's field staff prior to beginning field activities. <br /> General and well installation health and safety procedures will be followed during field activities as outlined in the <br /> HASP. <br /> Utility Clearance <br /> In accordance with state law, Underground Service Alert (USA)will be notified of the intent to conduct subsurface <br /> investigations at least 48 hours prior to initiation of intrusive field tasks. The proposed well and boring locations <br /> will be clearly marked with white paint as required by USA. Then, USA will notify utility owners-of-record within the <br /> vicinity of the proposed well and borehole locations. The utility owners-of-record, or their designated agents, will <br /> be expected to clearly mark the position of their utilities on the ground surface throughout publicly owned areas. <br /> In addition to contacting USA, a private utility locator will be contracted to assess the locations of potential <br /> underground utilities (i.e., pipes, electrical conductors, fuel lines, and/or sewer lines) in the vicinity of each well <br /> and borehole location before intrusive work is performed. Additionally, the locations will be cleared to a depth of 5 <br /> feet below ground surface (bgs) using air-knife, hydrovac, and/or hand-digging methods to further evaluate the <br /> presence of underground utilities. The proposed well and borehole locations may be adjusted in the field based <br /> on the presence of utilities. <br /> Permitting <br /> Applicable well installation and soil boring permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department (SJCEHD) before drilling activities begin.
