Ms. Vera Fischer
The soil gas samples will be submitted under chain of custody protocol to a State-certified
laboratory and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA
Method TO-3, for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) including DFA by EPA Method
TO-15 and for oxygen by ASTM Method D-1946.
Shallow Soil Sampling
During the advancement of each of the temporary soil gas probes, discrete soil samples will
be collected at depths of three and five feet. The soil samples will be collected in acetate
cores, capped, labeled and stored in a chilled ice chest pending submittal to the laboratory
for analysis.
The samples will be submitted under chain of custody to a State certified laboratory where
they will be analyzed for TPHg, TPHd, BTEX, fuel oxygenates and lead scavengers by
EPA Methods 8015 and 8260.
Protocols and Safety
All drilling and sampling equipment will be decontaminated before use and between uses
in order to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination. Drill cuttings will be
drummed. Water generated from equipment decontamination, well development and
sampling will be contained in labeled DOT approved drums. All waste will be stored on
site pending laboratory results and the development of disposal options.
All field activities performed at the site will be conducted in accordance with the Quality
Assurance/Quality Control Plan and Site Specific Health and Safety Plan (Attachments B
and C).
Reporting
Following the receipt of analytical results, a technical report will be prepared and submitted
to RWQCB. The report will describe the methods and results of the investigation as well
as recommendations for additional work as appropriate.
Stallworth Workplan Text
