Work Plan — Well Construction <br /> Well Construction <br /> A 6"borehole will be dug using a 6"hand auger to a depth of 6ft below the ground surface. The well <br /> casing will consist of 1.5" Sch. 40 PVC that will extend from the bottom of the borehole to 2ft above <br /> ground surface. The casing will be screen with 0.020 slot size from depths 3-5ft. The casing will be fitted <br /> with an endcap at the bottom of the borehole. <br /> The filter pack will consist of#3 Sand placed via tremie pipe. The filter pack will fill depths 2-6ft. A <br /> bentonite grout using medium bentonite ships will be used as the transitional seal filling the annual space <br /> from depths 1-2ft. Neat cement, mixed according to CA Well Standards Bulletin 74-90, will fill the <br /> remaining annual seal to the ground surface, depths 0-1 ft. <br /> A capped 4"PVC cover will be fitted over the exposed well casing and into the neat cement seal to <br /> protect the exposed well casing. The top of the well casing will be fitted with a locking cap. <br /> Excavated material and other waste generated from the well construction will be collected by field <br /> personnel for proper disposal off-site. <br /> Measurements and Samples <br /> No groundwater samples are planned to be taken from the wells. <br /> Groundwater levels will be recorded periodically with an electric sounding instrument. In-Situ TROLL <br /> transducers will be deployed in each well for continuous water level monitoring for the duration of the <br /> project. <br />
