Milton Road
Linden, CA 95236
Dear Mr. Mike Huggins,
I have just recieved your letter dated October 26 , 1995 and
can not beleave what I read. On test hole Number 1 , the day
before this test the owner and I had run well over a thousand
gallons into this hole with a two (2" ) inch line by gravity
and we could not even come close to getting a two (2 ' ) foot
deep column of water in the bottom of the whole and the next
day at the start of the test we dumped 500 gallons of water
as fast as we could empty the 55 gallon drums into the whole
and within 42 minutes the hole was dry this test will be
considered a 30 minute test then because if anyone after thirty
three years in the field tells me that this hole didn' t meet
the 1 " per hour rate then we had better set down and discuss
the purpose of this test.
To be truthfull no way could we have only added 6" of water
because the water ran out at such a rate and being 24 foot deep
which the deep pits are going to be 25 foot deep. I question
why the health department is trying to hold the owner up. If
it is the intent to force the owner to redig the hole and run
another test, Then let me know but I am signing the report
as it has passed and if we go to the 30 minute test then we
can call that test as 406" per hour and let it go at that.
Being in the field we all know that height of a column of water
has a lot to do with perk rate and we also know that in hard
pan that most of the process that takes place is evaporation
and evapotranspiration at best and it takes a combination of
the leach lines and the deep pits to make the system work.
1050 EAST SAHARA AVE.$SUITE 4028 4061 FARMINGTON ROAD
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA 69104 STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95215
(702) 733-8227 HEO-D (209) 463-6077 FAX(209)463-2919
