Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Addendum to Underground Pipe Removal and Investigation Results for 110
North Filbert Street, Stockton, California (letter, March 16, 1992)
Dear Ms. Oz:
This letter is an addendum to the March 16, 1992 letter addressed to you concerning the
underground pipe removal soil analytical results for Del Monte Plant 33 located at 110
North Filbert Street in Stockton, California. As we discussed, soil sample ES-1 was
analyzed for soluble lead (the total lead concentration of this soil sample was 74.8
mg/kg). The soluble lead analysis was performed according to the waste extraction test
(WET). This analysis was performed twice, once with a sodium citrate extraction solu-
tion and once with a deionized water extraction solution. The results are included in the
attached table. The laboratory data sheets are also attached. Both soluble lead extraction
test results are below the State of California Soluble Threshold Limit Concentration
(STLC) for lead (5 mg/1).
Based on the soil analytical results, the soil within 2.5 feet below the former gasoline
pipes does not require treatment or disposal. We have recommended that Del Monte
backfill the soil into the pipe excavation trenches.
Please call me if you have any comments or questions at (510) 652-8149 (ext. 2118).
Sincerely,
CH2M HILL
L
Bean Baumgartner
Environmental Engineer
CH2M HILL San Francisco Office 6425 Christie Avenue,Suite 500 510.652.2426
Emeryville,CA 94608-1006 Fax 510.652.0482
