. .
RECEIVED
19S0
ENVIRONMENTAL Mobil Oil Corporation PERMIT/SERVICES 3800 WEST ALAMEDA AVENUE,SUITE 700
BURBANK,CALIFORNIA 91505-4331
SENT VIA FEDERAL EXPRESS
July 2 , 1990
Ms. Laurie Cotulla, REHS MOBIL OIL CORPORATION
San Joaquin Co. Public Health FORMER SIS 10-NP4
Environmental Health Division 2375 TRACY BOULEVARD
1601 East Hazelton Avenue TRACY, CALIFORNIA
Stockton. CA 95201 BP SIS 11194
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
Reference is made to your June 20, 1990 letter. You requested
that a PAR work plan be submitted by July 1, 1990.
In October 1989, a work plan was submitted to the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and the RWQCB. A copy is
enclosed. To this date we have received no comments or approval.
Our consultant proceeded with the well installation and work in
accordance with the subject work plan. An interim report was
submitted on April 16, 1990, as you mentioned in your June 20,
1990 letter.
Based upon verbal approval by Mr. Harland Knoll of SJCPHS, two
offsite monitoring wells were installed on April 23 , 1990. All
necessary permits were obtained from SJCPHS prior to drilling.
The results of the laboratory analysis of the soil and ground
water samples from the additional monitoring wells will be
submitted by July 6, 1990.
As mentioned in the April 16, 1990 interim report, there are
ongoing dewatering activities in the vicinity of the site. Our
consultant believes this dewatering has affected the groundwater
condition and the contaminant migration beneath the site. The
remainder of the investigation has therefore been delayed until
the dewatering is complete.
We are evaluating all available data, including the analytical
results from the two offsite monitoring wells, before finishing
the tasks remaining in the work plan. We feel that a PAR work
plan is not necessary now. The completed PAR will be submitted,
as you requested, by October 1, 1990.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
(818) 953-2519.
