The following procedures will be used for observation well <br /> installation: <br /> o A ten-inch diameter borehole will be advanced and sampled to the <br /> Iappropriate depth using hollow stem auger drilling techniques; <br /> o A capped, four-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC well screen <br /> (approximately ten feet in length, with 0.020 screen size, will be <br /> (I. <br /> placed in the borehole. All well casing materials will be steam <br /> cleaned prior to installation; <br /> o Blank four-inch diameter, flush-threaded Schedule 40 PVC will be <br /> :installed from the top of the screen to the ground surface. A cap <br /> I� <br /> will be placed on top of the casing; <br /> o IA sand pack consisting of washed sand will be placed in the <br /> annulus of the borehole to a depth of approximately two feet above <br /> the top of the slotted casing; <br /> o A minimum one foot thick bentonite seal will be placed above the <br /> sand pack; and, <br /> o 'The remaining annular space will be filled to the ground surface <br /> with a bentonite/slurry. A Royer-type locking aluminum cap will <br /> be installed to the top of the casing below a Christi box, which <br /> will be grouted in place at the ground surface to complete <br /> installation. <br /> 3.2.2 Ground Water Sa=ling <br /> Four ground water samples, one quality control duplicate field blank, <br /> a travel blank and a rinsate sample will be collected for chemical analysis <br /> I <br /> for each round of ground water sampling.
