Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to our clients,
commensurate with their wants, needs, and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does
not meet the needs of the client, or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder will consider
appropriate modifications, subject to the standards of cage to which we adhere as professionals.
Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and contract terms and
conditions may result in changes to the risks assumed by you our client, as well as adjustments to
our fees. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
BACKGROUND
An 8-inch PVC casing was discovered during grading operations at the site located.on APN 198-
130-32, Lathrop, California. A Kleinfelder representative visited the site to assess the casing.
The casing appears to be schedule 80 PVC and was noted as having been filled with dirt to
approximately 2 feet from the sin-face, The total depth of the casing is unknown at this time.
Several other monitoring wells associated with the Libby Owens Ford Facility were also noted on
the site. It is our understanding that Catlin Properties will be contacting Libby Owens Ford for
information regarding these wells.
PROPOSED SERVICES
Task E01 - Permitting and Pre-Field Activities
Prior to proceeding with the abandonment activities, Meinfelder will query public agencies such as
the State Department of Water Resources and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(EHD) for the presence of known water wells or monitoring wells associated with the site. After
determining the scope of work for the abandonment (based on the confirmation or unknown status)
of the well Kleinfelder will obtain boring/well permits from the EHD. Additionally, Kleinfelder
will arrange, schedule, and supervise the subcontractors needed to accomplish the well
abandonment process.
02001 PROP.ENV/ST03P102 r ~ Page A-1
Copyright 2003, Kleinfelder,Inc. • March 19,2003
