LEACH LINES: USE RING TITE P.V.C. 4" DIAMETER TO BE
PRE -PERFORATED PER SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY STANDARDS. FITTINGS
TO BE RUBBER RINGS CONFORMING TO A.S.T.M. D1869.
11. GRAVEL: COARSE GRADED GRAVEL USED IN LEACH LINE IS TO BE 1
INCH MINIMUM TO 2 1/2 INCH MAXIMUM WASHED ROCK AGGREGATE.
12. PROTECTION BARRIER: UNTREATED PAPER, FILTER FABRIC, STRAW, OR
OTHER APPROVED MATERIAL IS TO BE USED AS A BARRIER ON TOP
OF THE GRAVEL SEPARATING THE ROCKS FROM THE SOIL BACKFILL.
13. RECORDS OF MONTHLY WATER USE SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND
COPIES MADE AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINEER AND/OR COUNTY UPON
REQUEST.
14. THE TANKS SHALL BE INSPECTED BASED ON THE APPROVED NOTICE
OF APPLICABILITY (NOA) FILED WITH THE STATE WATER RESOURCES
CONTROL BOARD TO ENSURE THAT THE CAPACITY OF THE TANKS ARE
OPERATIONAL. THE RECEIPT, NAME AND DATE OF SERVICE OF THE
COMPANY INSPECTING, OR PUMPING THE TANK OUT, SHALL BE
PROVIDED TO THE COUNTY, OR THE ENGINEER UPON REQUEST.
15. THE ON SITE SEWAGE DIVISION, OR OTHERS DESIGNATED, WILL ALSO
MONITOR THE WELLS. IF SYSTEM FAILURE IS DETERMINED, OR
EMINENT IN THE OPINION OF THE ON -SITE -SEWAGE DIVISION, A
SIMILAR SYSTEM WILL BE CONSTRUCTED IN THE RESERVE AREA
DESIGNATED. IT IS TO BE OPERATED ON AN ALTERNATIVE BASIS WITH
THE PRIMARY AREA. SIGNS OF SEPTIC SYSTEM FAILURE INCLUDE
DISCHARGE OF SEWAGE TO THE GROUND SURFACE AND SATURATED
UPPER SOILS HORIZONS DURING PERIODS OF DRY WEATHER. IF THE
SYSTEM IS CLEARLY FAILING, THE DESIGNER AND ON -SITE -SEWAGE
DIVISION SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY. WATER LEVELS IN THE
INSPECTION PIPES OR MONITORING WELLS WHICH ARE VERY NEAR
THE GROUND SURFACE MAY INDICATE POTENTIAL PROBLEMS BUT DO
NOT ALONE CONSTITUTE FAILURE. IN SUCH CASES, THE SYSTEM
SHOULD BE MONITORED MORE FREQUENTLY FOR CLEAR SIGNS OF
FAILURE, PERHAPS ONCE PER WEEK UNTIL A CLEAR PATTERN IS
DEVELOPED.
16. TRIMMER VALVES SHALL BE PLASTIC BALL VALVES, EQUAL TO THE
LATERAL SIZE. THE VALVES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH VALVE BOXES
AND SHALL BE SET IN A PEA GRAVEL BASE.
17. THE DISPOSAL FIELD SHALL BE DOSED BY GRAVITY.
18. ALL OTHER SEPTIC SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION DETAILS AS PER ON SITE
SEWAGE DIVISION REQUIREMENTS.
19. OWNER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SCHEDULING INSPECTIONS.
20. INSPECTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION BY THE DESIGNER AND IN SOME
CASES, THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY ARE REQUIRED. THE INSTALLER
AND/OR OWNER ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING THE
DESIGNER AND/OR REGULATORY AUTHORITY AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN
ADVANCE OF EACH REQUIRED INSPECTION. EVERY EFFORT WILL BE
MADE TO RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS, HOWEVER ADDITIONAL NOTICE
MAY SOMETIMES BE REQUIRED AT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
21. THE PERMIT AND AN APPROVED SET OF DESIGN DOCUMENTS MUST
BE ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES.
22. THE INSTALLER AND/OR OWNER ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR
ENSURING THAT ALL PROPERTY BOUNDARIES ARE ACCURATELY
MARKED, THAT ALL APPROPRIATE SETBACKS ARE OBSERVED, AND
THAT UNDERGROUND AND/OR OVERHEAD UTILITIES AND/OR UTILITY
EASEMENTS ARE IDENTIFIED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
23. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL THE DISPOSAL OR REPLACEMENT
AREAS, OR RELATIVE POSITIONS OF THE OTHER SYSTEM COMPONENTS,
BE MODIFIED WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT FROM THE DESIGNER AND THE
REGULATORY AUTHORITY.
24. IF THE SOIL IN THE DISPOSAL AREA CAN BE FORMED INTO A RIBBON
IT IS TOO WET TO EXCAVATE. DO NOT REMOVE VEGETATION, OPERATE
EQUIPMENT, OR OTHERWISE DISTURB SOILS IN THE DISPOSAL AREA
UNTIL RECEIVING APPROVAL FROM THE DESIGNER.
25. DISTURBANCE OF NATIVE SOILS IN THE DISPOSAL AND/OR
REPLACEMENT AREAS AND FOR A DISTANCE OF 50 FEET BELOW THE
DISPOSAL OR REPLACEMENT AREA MAY CAUSE PREMATURE SYSTEM
FAILURE. DO NOT ALLOW VEHICULAR TRAFFIC, CONSTRUCTION
EQUIPMENT, OR LIVESTOCK IN THE AREA WITHIN OR BELOW THE
DISPOSAL OR REPLACEMENT AREAS.
26. DO NOT DIRECT CONCENTRATED SURFACE WATER RUNOFF ONTO
ADJACENT PROPERTIES.
27. ALL SEPTIC SYSTEMS, REGARDLESS OF TYPE, HAVE FINITE LIFE SPANS
AND AS SUCH WILL NOT OPERATE INDEFINITELY. IN ACCEPTING THIS
PLAN, THE OWNER UNDERSTANDS AND ACCEPTS THAT REPAIR AND/OR
REPLACEMENT OF ALL OR PORTIONS OF THIS SYSTEM WILL LIKELY BE
REQUIRED AT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
28. THIS SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE A FINITE QUANTITY OF
WASTEWATER. ADDITIONAL WASTEWATER WILL NOT BE TREATED
PROPERLY BY THIS SYSTEM AND WILL DAMAGE ITS COMPONENTS.
WASTEWATER GENERATION EXCEEDING THE DAILY DESIGN FLOW RATE
LISTED ELSEWHERE ON THESE PLANS IS LIKELY TO DAMAGE THE
SYSTEM OR CAUSE FAILURE AND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
29. THE CREATION OF CUT BANKS BELOW THE DISPOSAL OR
REPLACEMENT AREAS INCREASES THE POSSIBILITY OF INTERCEPTION
AND SURFACING OF MIGRATING EFFLUENT AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE
AVOIDED. CUT BANKS BELOW THE DISPOSAL OR REPLACEMENT AREAS
ARE CREATED SOLELY AT THE RISK OF THE OWNER.
30. THE DISTURBANCE OF NATIVE SOILS WITHIN OR BELOW THE DISPOSAL
OR REPLACEMENT AREAS INCREASE THE POSSIBILITY OF SOIL
STRUCTURE DAMAGE AND MAY LEAD TO DISPOSAL FIELD FAILURE.
DISTURBANCE OF NATIVE SOILS WITHIN OR BELOW THE DISPOSAL OR
REPLACEMENT AREAS BY ANY MEANS INCLUDING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC,
GRADING, LIVESTOCK, ETC..
