APPENDIX D <br />Specific Emereency Procedures: Hazardous Material <br />• If you witness a hazardous material spill, leave the spill site and warn others to stay <br />away. Call 9-1-1 if you believe the spill is life threatening. <br />• Ifyou can determine the spill is not life threatening, and you have the proper training and <br />PPE, follow the steps outlined here: <br />• Isolate the spill are to keep other personnel away — barricade the area if possible. Cover <br />drains if there is a risk a spill might get into the storm drain system. <br />• Have another person notify the EAP Administrator <br />• If the EAP Administrator suspects a release of hazardous material to the environment <br />(air, water, groundwater, stormwater drains), s/he shall call 9-1-1 immediately. <br />• If the evacuation announcement is made, all personnel shall proceed to the assembly area. <br />7 <br />
