IrVWAC. hk)t- HAZARD COMMUNICATION (HAZCOM) <br /> SYST <br /> General Information <br /> In order to comply with Federal and State "Right to Know" laws, the following Chemical <br /> Hazard Communication Program will go into effect immediately. All departments are <br /> included in this program; the written program will be available at all branch offices and on <br /> our intranet for review by any interested employees. <br /> Container Labeling <br /> Branch Managers will verify that all stationary product vessels and portable containers be <br /> clearly labeled as to the contents.The chemical contents must coincide with the chemical <br /> identity used on the Safety Data Sheet(SDS) for that chemical. All containers of the <br /> hazardous chemicals must be labeled with the appropriate hazard-warning symbol. <br /> Branch Managers at each branch will ensure that all secondary containers are labeled with <br /> the same information as the original manufacturer's label. For help with labeling please see <br /> your manager. If more information is needed then is supplied on the label,refer to the SDS <br /> sheets located in the binder in the work area,the office, or on the intranet. <br /> The Safety and Compliance Manager will review the labeling system and update it as <br /> required. This review will be documented and filed under the "Chemical Hazard <br /> Communication Records"filed at each Auto-Chlor System branch. <br /> Copies of SDSs for hazardous chemicals to which employees may be exposed will be kept in <br /> the work area, office area,and on our intranet. SDSs will be available to all employees for <br /> review in their work area. If SDSs are not available or new chemicals in use do not have an <br /> SDS,please contact the Branch Manager immediately. A master file of all SDSs will be kept <br /> at the corporate headquarters. <br /> When purchasing new hazardous materials,prior to use,the Branch Manager will review <br /> the new SDSs with all employees. <br /> Safety Data Sheets(SDS) y <br /> Branch Managers are responsible for obtaining and maintaining current SDSs. Prior to full <br /> acceptance of the SDS,the Branch Manager shall check the content of the SDS to ensure that <br /> it meets the requirement of 29 CFR 1910.1200(g). <br /> Employee Training and Information <br /> Branch Managers are responsible for the employee-training program.
