Auto Chlor System 2 <br /> HAZARD COMMUNICATION (HAZCOM) <br /> Training must include at the minimum: <br /> • Review of OSHA's Chemical Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) <br /> • Location and availability of Auto-Chlor System's written program. <br /> • List of chemicals present in the workplace. <br /> • How to read labels and SDS for hazard information. <br /> • Physical and health effects of the hazardous chemicals present. <br /> • Methods and observation techniques used to determine the presence and release of <br /> hazardous chemicals in the work place. <br /> • How to lessen or prevent exposure to hazardous chemicals through the usage of <br /> control/work practices and personal protective equipment(PPE). <br /> • Steps the company has taken to lessen or prevent exposure to hazardous chemicals. <br /> • Emergency procedures to follow if personnel are exposed to hazardous chemicals. <br /> • Locations of SDSs and list of hazardous chemicals. <br /> • Documentation of employee's training. <br /> Prior to new chemical hazards being introduced to the workplace all employees must be <br /> trained according to the above guidelines. <br /> Non-Routine Tasks <br /> Occasionally employees are required to perform non-routine tasks that involve the use of <br /> hazardous chemicals that are not normally used at the workplace. Prior to using such <br /> hazardous chemicals, each affected employee will be given information by their Branch <br /> Manager about the hazardous chemicals used for this non-routine task. <br /> Informing Contractors <br /> Prior to starting work on the premises,all outside contractors will be given a general facility <br /> safety and chemical hazard communication orientation. At the time of the orientation,the <br /> contractor must provide a list of any hazardous chemicals that they will be bringing on site <br /> that may affect an employee of this facility. <br /> The Branch Manager will document this meeting and provide contractors with the following <br /> information: <br /> • Specific chemical hazards that contractors could be exposed to in the work area. <br /> • Protective/Safety measures employees can use to minimize exposure. <br /> • Location and availability of SDSs. <br /> Auto-Chlor System' <br /> Safety&Regulatory Compliance Program <br />
