HAZARDOUS MATERIALS BUSINESS PLAN <br />SPILL PREVENTION, EMERGENCY RESPONSE, TRAINING AND CLOSURE PLAN <br />Business Name: AT&T Mobility - North Manteca WOS1 (14662 / 9839) <br />Business Address: 12771 Castle Road, Manteca 95336 <br />In addition to the general business, chemical inventory and site map information, the <br />San Joaquin County OES requires completion of the following sections pertaining to spill <br />prevention, emergency response, employee training and site closure. These sections <br />contain specific elements pertaining to the Hazardous Materials Business Plan, the <br />hazardous waste contingency plan, storm water pollution prevention, and underground <br />storage tank (UST) monitoring. <br />SPILL PREVENTION PLAN <br />1. Describe how hazardous materials are handled, stored and monitored to prevent or <br />minimize a spill or release from occurring (e.g., secondary containment, segregation <br />of incompatibles, daily visual monitoring). <br />Batterysystems are inspected by technician upon entry to the facility. Batteries are checked for <br />cracks or signs of leakage. Cables are checked for cracks or signs of fraying. Racks are designed <br />for this purpose and are anchored to prevent tripping or falling of cells. Cells are firmly attached <br />2. Describe operations, activities and/or storage locations where a release is most likely <br />to occur. <br />Activities are limited to electronic switching and related maintenance of switch gear. <br />Spills are most likelytppen in battery areas of site. <br />3. Describe Best Management Practices (BMPs) you use to reduce or eliminate illicit <br />discharge of pollutants to the storm sewer system. <br />Battery Electrolyte: Electrolyte is contained in batteries with explosion proof cases and batteries are <br />secured in specially designed reinforced battery racks which work in conjunction with earthquake <br />bracing. Person discovering spill will: Contact 866 HELP EHS (866-435-7347), keep others out <br />of area, attempt to stop the flow of the leak; wear protective equipment; use spill kit to absorb the <br />leak, or call 911 <br />4. Describe underground storage tank and/or aboveground storage tank monitoring <br />procedures used to prevent an unauthorized release from occurring. <br />There are no underground storage tanks at this location. <br />
