The liquid on the concrete was cleaned up and RCCtces
a container was placed to catch any drips until the material is removed by
Universal Environmental.
Filling area for 55 -gallon drums, spillage of caustic solution is all over the
work area. This action could potentially be considered a reportable chemical
release, reportable according to California Health and Safety Code Chapter
6.95.
The warehouse packaging area has a bermed concrete surface to prevent any
spillage from reaching the environment. We are currently evaluating the issue.
See response to issue 10.
Inside warehouse by compressor is a machine used for caustic. It has
secondary containment that is a quarter full of caustic and leaking from the
secondary containment onto the floor.
The caustic material was removed from the secondary containment and the
containment will be repaired to eliminate the potential leak to the concrete bermed
surface.
Thank you for your help and consideration in this matter.
Sincerely, -
Sierra g#ivtical Co.
Gary .
