Cost: NA <br />Complaint (There Appears to be Two Separate Issues Under This Item): <br />13.bb. Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8001.4.7.3, failure to remove from service, repair or <br />dispose of in an approved manner defective containers and tanks <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 28, 2005: <br />North End Warehouse Item No. 5 — The large sodium hydroxide tank shows a history of <br />spillage with stains and degrading of the flooring. The hydroxide has damaged the tank <br />hold-downs, damaged the curb and damaged the buildings steel beam for the east side <br />bearing wall. CFC 8003.1.3.3 <br />North End Warehouse Item No. 6 — The sodium hydroxide tank is buckling near the <br />piping and may be a possible leak source since there is hydroxide in the secondary <br />containment. CFC 8001.4.7.3 <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />Sodium hydroxide tank was relocated and re -anchored. The tank was re -positioned to <br />prevent buckling. The steel beam was inspected by Siegfried Engineering, January 13, <br />2006 — "The corrosion observed at the columns is not sufficient to significantly affect the <br />structural integrity of the column." <br />Cost: NA <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />Rear Yard Storage 2: Remove defective containers from service; repair or dispose in an <br />approved manner. CFC, 8001.4.7.3 <br />Sierra Chemical Response and Action: <br />Containers were sent for scrapping. <br />Cost: NA <br />Complaint: <br />13.cc. Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8001.4.6, failure to maintain free from residual <br />material and vapor, empty containers and tanks previously used for the storage of hazardous <br />materials <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 18, 2002: <br />020718 Fire Safety Inspection — Rear Yard Storage 8: Remove empty containers with <br />residual material in the containers. Empty containers and tanks previously used for the <br />storage of hazardous materials shall be free from residual material and vapor. CFC, <br />8001.4.6 <br />
