Violation of CFC, Article 80, section 8003.3.1.6, failure to provide a continuous gas <br />detection system to detect the presence of gas at or below the permissible exposure limit <br />or ceiling limit <br />Fire Safety Inspection, July 28, 2005: <br />Gas Room Item No. 3 — A continuous gas -detection system shall be provided to detect <br />the presence of gas at or below the permissible exposure limit or ceiling limits. The <br />detection system shall initiate a local alarm and transmit a signal to a constantly attended <br />control station. The alarm shall be both visual and audible and shall be designed to <br />provide a warning both inside and outside of the storage area. The audible alarm shall be <br />distinct from all other alarms. The gas -detection system shall be capable of monitoring <br />the room or area in which the gas is stored at or below the permissible exposure limit or <br />ceiling limit and the discharge from the treatment system at or below one-half the IDLH <br />limit. CFC, Sec. 8003.3.1.6 Tie in the sensors for gas detection in all areas of the gas <br />room including the sensor for the exhaust system.
