Once this is done you can email me or call me and I can approve the transfer of ownership. Then the information can be
input into CERS.
The Hazardous waste inspection will consist of an inspection of hazardous waste container(used oil, used oil filters)
storage and labeling. I have attached the labeling requirements,if there are used oil filters that are drained, there are
different labeling requirements that apply to them. There should not be stained soil or puddles of waste oil and all
containers should be tightly closed if not adding or removing product. I will also need to see three years of disposal
records for the used oil and filters and any other hazardous waste that may be generated. This would be receipts from
the company that picks up the oil or from where it is taken to. Most likely the receipts should meet the requirements of a
"Consolidated Manifest"which is attached.
If the farm is generating hazardous waste from the business, from farming equipment or farm related activities, an EPA ID
will be required.A form is attached and more information can be found here.
San Diego County has some very good information and can be found here
I have included the checklists that we use for our inspections. Not everything will apply to your facility.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or problems you may have.
FREE classes presented by NES Inc. are available to all San Joaquin County Hazardous Waste, Underground Storage Tank,
and Aboveground Petroleum Storage Facility Business Owners and Operators.
