NO SOLID WASTE FROM THE DOGS WILL BE ROUTED INTO THE SEPTIC
SYSTEM.
Total Waste Volume
A weeldy, estimated maximum of thirty (30) gallons (by volume) of solid waste will be
produced by the dogs. This equates to about four(4) gallons (by volume) of solid waste per day
maximum. An estimated daily maximum of liquid waste produced would be fourteen(14)
gallons.
These volumes are based on assuming that the kennel is at absolute capacity with every
dog being 50 pounds in weight. A more realistic amount of actual waste produced per day would
be less than that considering the fluctuating number of animals throughout the year as well as the
differing sizes of those animals.
Waste Removal from the Property
A two (2) yard dumpster service will be provided to us through the California Waste
Management company. All manure and refuse will be placed in to this dumpster which will be
picked up once per week and taken to a landfill.
Vector Control
If evidence of vermin were to be found in the facility, traps would be set to control any
problems. No poisons would be used as there would be a risk of primary or secondary poisoning
of the boarding dogs.
Immediate clean-up of any and all waste will hinder the attraction and breeding of flies.
Tightly bagging waste and storing all dog foods in closed plastic containers will deter insects and
rodents. No stagnant water will be present to breed mosquitos. All feeding stations will be
indoors.
No pest control service is scheduled to do any work at the facility.
Please see attached site map and kennel layout drawings for more details.
