API 653 In-Service Inspection Report <br /> for 11111111= 0111111111 Inspection <br /> Ethanol <br /> Tank No. T-7704 August 8,2013 <br /> Stockton, CA Page 24 of 42 <br /> 5.0 NDT INSPECTION <br /> 5.1 NDT INSPECTION SCOPE <br /> The following Nondestructive Testing (NDT) was conducted to evaluate the physical <br /> characteristics of the tank: <br /> A) Visual (VT) inspection of areas for the detection of anomalies or significant <br /> product side metal loss which may affect the integrity. Performed in accordance <br /> with HMT inspection VT Procedure No. 1611.9, Revision No. 3. <br /> B) Random Ultrasonic (UT) readings on shell 1 roof nozzles. Performed in <br /> accordance with HMT Inspection UT Procedure No. 1611.1, Revision No, 5. <br /> C) Random Ultrasonic (UT) readings on bottom chime. Performed in accordance <br /> with HMT UT Procedure No. 1611.1, Revision No. 5. <br /> D) Random Ultrasonic (UT) readings on shell 1 roof plates. Performed in <br /> accordance with HMT Inspection UT Procedure No. 1611.1, Revision No. 5. <br /> 5.2 BOTTOM INSPECTION <br /> External shell-to-bottom weld was inspected utilizing VT inspection methods. <br /> Bottom chime UT data was collected utilizing random readings. One (1) reading was <br /> taken every 10 feet(ref. Table A). <br /> 5.3 SHELL INSPECTION <br /> External shell welds were inspected utilizing VT inspection.methods. <br /> Shell plate UT data was collected utilizing random readings. Ten (10) readings were <br /> taken per course in one vertical plane utilizing a man-lift. (ref.
