93180Ann
Farms
Training and Drills
Ongoing training is essential for a successful Emergency Evacuation Plan. Employees will be trained on
the evacuation routes and assembly areas during orientation. Supervisors and Managers will be trained
in depth on this plan's procedures, as well as contingency plans. An evacuation drill will be performed
during the first third of the work season to ensure training has been properly administered.
The annual Evacuation Drill will be conducted according to the following guidelines:
The date of the Drill will be announced in advance to the Cooling Supervisor only. The
specific time of the drill on the scheduled day will be unannounced and initiated by the
Operations Manager or the Safety Officer by phone call to the Cooling Supervisor.
The Cooling Supervisor shall commence with the evacuation steps above (excluding
contacting 911).
After the evacuation process has concluded, the Cooling Supervisor shall evaluate the
effectiveness of the evacuation drill. The Cooling Supervisor, will prepare a follow-up
report that records details of the drill, and evaluates the effectiveness of the drill for
future training purposes.
o This report shall include, but not be limited to recording the following:
■ What time was the emergency evacuation signal given?
■ How much time was required to assemble all employees at the
assembly area and account for any missing employees? (DO include
time taken to identify any missing persons, do NOT include time taken
to subsequently search for these employees)
■ How much time was required (from the start of the drill) for the Cooling
Supervisor and his designee to search the facility and return to the
assembly area?
■ If any employees were identified as 'missing', why were they so
identified?
o Additionally, the following items should be evaluated:
■ Is the designated assembly area a safe location for all employees to
gather at once?
■ Was cooling equipment turned off during the evacuation process? If
not, which equipment and why?
■ Were any actual or potential hazards encountered during the
evacuation process that should be considered in future training plans?
■ What problems were encountered during the drill?
■ What steps can be taken to improve the evacuation process?
Revised: 08/24/2018
S:\Users\Shaina\Employee & Facility Safety\Tracy HAZMAT\Kings Emergency Evacuation\Kings Crown Facility EAP 082418.docx
