GloriAnn
Farm-
■ The approximate number of employees on duty
■ Any known hazards (such as collapsed buildings, known injuries, chemical
hazards, etc.)
— Do NOT hang up unless told to do so by the 911 operator
Assist Employees with Evacuation
— Supervisors and company management have been trained on this plan, and, in the event
of an emergency, will work to get all employees out of the facility as soon as possible.
Supervisors should direct employees to the nearest emergency exit. All Personal
Protective Equipment, safety vests, gloves, etc. can remain on during the evacuation. Do
not waste time removing these items before evacuating.
— Once outside, supervisors should ensure that employees go directly to the assembly
area. DO NOT allow employees to gather any personal belongings, and DO NOT allow
any employees to leave the area until ALL employees have been accounted for, and the
OK to leave has been given by the evacuation coordinator.
— Rescue attempts, including extraction of employees from machinery, high or low
surfaces, or from other potentially unsafe situations should only be performed by
trained emergency response personnel.
Shut Off Power to All Equipment
— Supervisors are responsible for turning off power to their respective equipment during
the evacuation process. Turn off as much equipment as possible by pressing the
emergency stop buttons located on the various pieces of equipment.
Ensure All Employees Have Evacuated the Facility
— The supervisor on duty and another employee designated by him shall, assuming it is
safe to do so, walk through each building of the facility together to ensure no
employees, visitors, or drivers remain inside. Each part of the facility (to the extent to
which such facilities are accessible) will be checked, including the cold rooms, office,
restrooms, and out buildings. Once this search is completed, the supervisor on duty and
his designee will proceed to the assembly area.
Accounting for Employees After an Evacuation
— The supervisor on duty at the facility is responsible for coordinating the activities of the
evacuation.
— Information regarding potentially 'missing' employees should be investigated if safe to
do so, and communicated to emergency personnel as they arrive. It is essential to have
as much information as possible for emergency responders to affect a successful rescue.
Notifying Emergency Contact
— Emergency contact information for every employee can be obtained at the company's
administrative office.
Identifying Conditions Necessary for Safe Re -Entry or Conditions to Send Employees Home
— Re-entry of the workplace after an evacuation should only be authorized once the 'all -
clear' is given by emergency responders. At that time, the supervisor on duty will enter
the facility to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition to continue working.
Once cleared, remaining employees can return to their positions.
— In the event the facility is not able to be occupied within a reasonable timeframe,
employees will be sent home until further notice. However, UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES shall employees leave, or be told to leave until ALL employees are
accounted for in the above processes.
Revised: 08/24/2018
S:\Users\Shaina\Employee & Facility Safety\Tracy HAZMAT\Kings Emergency Evacuation\Kings Crown Facility EAP 082418.docx
