Tank Summary
Tank# Product Tank Type Materials Age Containment Capacity(Gg)
1 Diesel Horizontal Steel 51 Concrete 10,000
2 Diesel Horizontal Steel 51 Concrete 10,000
Tank# Product Design Std Piping E-Vent LLM Alarms
1 Diesel Manufacture AST Good
2 Diesel Unknown Good
3.1 General:
The site has good housekeeping with only minor spill stains, all which have been cleaned. No
concrete and ground staining were observed in the containment. The tanks have NFPA Placards.
The tanks have bollards vehicle protection. The tanks are located away from the property line
with good access on all sides.
Tank 1 has a nameplate stating AST design. Tank 2's nameplate has been removed.
3.2 Foundation,Supports&Anchors:
Tanks are located on a concrete slab that no shows signs of concrete failure. The tanks have steel
supports, which are at adequate heights. The tanks are not anchored, but the horizontal
configuration within the concrete containment, will allow for sliding. Sloshing is unlikely to tip
tank. Anchoring is not required.
3.3 Release Prevention Barrier:
SP-001 is a risk-based inspection procedure compensating tank systems with the best spill
controls and leak detection methods with a long frequency between testing. Risk base factors
such as Continuous Release Detection Method (CRDM) conducted during monthly inspections
and Release Prevention Barrier (RPB) determine if future inspections shall be internal or
external.
Tanks have CRDM in the containment, as they are elevated over containment.
Measurements of the concrete containment were re-evaluated by the client and match the SPCC
Plan,indicating sufficient capacity.
3.4 Inte rg_i . Testing_
Steel thickness measurements for shell and bulkheads were obtained using an Olympus
Panametrics 38 DL Plus ultrasonic thickness (UT) meter; it has an LCD display with digital
numeric readout.
2
BAY AREA TANK&COATINGS, LLC 2115 E. 27TH ST VANCOUVER, WA 98661
OFFICE 360.314.2448 FAX 360.314.2691
