Oils or ointments should not be used. <br />Continue the flushing for an additional 15 minutes if the <br />physician is not immediately available. <br />Inhalation <br />Remove from contaminated atmosphere. Seek medical <br />attention if respiratory irritation occurs. If the victim is <br />having difficulty breathing, oxygen may be administered, <br />preferably with a physician's advice. <br />Vill. INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE <br />Ingestion <br />All food should be kept in a separate area away frorn the <br />working location. Eating, drinking, and smoking should <br />be prohibited in areas where there is a potential for sig- <br />nificant exposure to this material. Before eating, hands <br />and face should be thoroughly washed. <br />Skin Ce 'xct <br />Skin contact should be minimized through the use of. <br />gloves and suitable tong -sleeved clothing. <br />Eye Contact <br />Eye contact should be prevented through the use of <br />chemical safety glasses, goggles or a face shield. <br />Inhil-tion <br />This material should be handled in opera or wall -ventilated <br />areas. if dust is generated it should be controlled by local <br />exhaust ventilation. When this is not feasible, inhalation <br />can be prevented through the use of a NIOSH -approved, <br />particulate filter respirator. <br />IX. SPILL HANDLING <br />Make sur._ all personnel involved in the spill cleanup fol- <br />low good industrial hygiene practices (refer to Section <br />VI ll). <br />Spills can be handled routinely. Use adequate venti- <br />lation and wear a dust mask to prevent inhalation. Wear <br />suitable protective clothing and eye protection to prevent <br />skin and eye contact. Use the following procedures: <br />Sweep up the material being careful not to create dust <br />and transfer to an appropriate chemical waste container. <br />Seal container and dispose of in an approved landfill or <br />in such a manner that will not adversely affect the envi- <br />ronment. CORROSIVITY TO MATERIALS OF <br />CONSTRUCTION <br />The material is not corrosive to materials commonly <br />used in the construction of process equipment, storage <br />and shipping containers. <br />XI. STORAGE REQUIREMENTS <br />The containers should be stored in a cool, dry, well - <br />ventilated area. The material is hygroscopic, and there- <br />fore the containers should be kept closed when not in <br />use. Exercise due caution to prevent damage to or leakage <br />from the container. <br />XII. DISPOSAL OF UNUSE=D MATERIAL <br />Material that cannot be used or chemically reprocessed <br />should be disposed of in an approved landfill or in such a <br />way that will not adversely affect the environment. <br />X111. DISPOSAL OF CONTAINER <br />Empty containers may be incinerated by means equipped <br />with appropriate environmental pollution controls or dis- <br />carded with the general trash. <br />C <br />C <br />
