0 <br />0 <br />Minimizing the airborne dispersion of contaminants <br />Implementing the appropriate personnel and equipment <br />decontamination procedures <br />8.0 DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br />A. Procedures: <br />All personnel will wash their hands and face when leaving the work <br />zone. <br />Personal equipment worn Into the Exclusion Area will be <br />decontaminated upon leaving the Contamination Reduction Area. All <br />equipment decontaminated will be air dried. <br />The decontamination of equipment, material, and personnel used or <br />working in the Contamination Reduction Area may be somewhat less complex <br />than that used in the Exclusion Area. <br />The spent solution, brushes, sponges, containers. stands. etc., used In the <br />decontamination process must, until shown otherwise, be considered <br />contaminated and must be properly disposed. <br />9.0 GENERAL SAFE WORK PRACTICES <br />A. The project operations shall be conducted with the following minimum <br />safety requirements emploved: <br />Ealing, drinking, chewing gum or tobacco, smoking, or anv practice <br />that increases the probability of hand to mouth transfer and ingestion of <br />materials is prohibited in any area where the possibility of contamination <br />exists. <br />Hands must be thoroughly washed upon leaving a contaminated or <br />suspected contaminated area before eating, drinking, or any other activities <br />transpires. <br />Through washing of the entire body should be accomplished whenever <br />decontamination procedures for outer garments are in effect. The washing <br />should occur as soon as possible after the final wearing of prolective <br />garments. <br />Legible and understandable precautionary labels shall be prominently <br />affixed to containers of raw materials, intermediated, products, mixtures, <br />scrap, waste, debris, and contaminated clothing. <br />Contaminated protective clothing shall not be removed from the <br />regulated area until it has been cleaned or properly packaged and labeled. <br />
