0 0 <br />Removal of materials from protective clothing or equipment by <br />blowing, shaking, or any other means which may disperse materials into the <br />air is prohibited. <br />Personnel on-site must use the "buddy system" when wearing any <br />respiratory prolective devices. Communications between members must be <br />maintained at all limes. Emergency communications shall be prearranged in <br />case of encountering unexpected situations. Visual contact must be maintained <br />between "pairs" on-site, and each team should remain in close proximity to <br />assist each other if necessary. <br />Personnel will Inform each other of subjective symptoms of chemical <br />exposure such as headache, dizziness, nausea, and irritation of the respiratory <br />tract. <br />No excessive facial hair which Ihterferes with a satisfactory tit of the <br />facepiece to face seal will be allowed on personnel required to wear <br />respiratory prolective equipment. <br />All respiratory protection selection, use, and maintenance will meet the <br />requirements of established AAT procedures, recognized consensus standards <br />(AIHA, ANSI, NIOSIO, and will comply with the requirements set forth in 29 <br />CFR 1910.134. <br />Appropriate work areas for support, contamination reduction, and <br />exclusion wilt be established. <br />AAT personnel on-site will to be thoroughly briefed on the anticipated <br />hazards, equipment requirements, safely practices, emergency procedures, <br />and communications methods. This will be accomplished initially, at the <br />beginning of a project, and then in daily briefings as the project progresses. <br />Contact with surface and groundwater shall be minimized. <br />Steel toed and Neoprene boots will be worn on-site at all limes. <br />B. The following additional precautions shall be implemented for all <br />personnel working on the project site: <br />Cross decontamination and removal of all personal prolective <br />equipment shall be performed prior to exiting the facility. Contaminated <br />clothing will be removed and collected in a drum for disposal. <br />The Project Safety officer will be responsible to take necessary steps to <br />ensure that employees are protected from physical hazards, to include: <br />- Falling objects such as tools or equipment <br />- Palls. from elevations <br />- Tripping over hoses, pipes, tools, or equipment <br />- Slipping on wet or oily surfaces <br />- insufficient or faulty protective equipment <br />- Insufficient or faulty operations, equipment, or tools <br />
