The proper ratio for the <br />decontamination solution is 1:10. <br />Add 1 part bleach to 10 parts <br />water. <br />Decontamination <br />Decontamination must be completed before any cleanup or <br />disposal. <br />The following precautions must be followed for minor blood or <br />small spots of blood (up to 2 inches in diameter): <br />1. Put out "Wet Floor" signs in immediate area. <br />2. The use of hand and eye protection mandatory. <br />3. Apply a bleach and water solution of 1 part bleach to 10 parts <br />water (1:10). <br />4. Let stand for 10 minutes and wipe up with paper towels. <br />5. Decontaminate gloves and any equipment used for 10 minutes <br />in a 1:10 bleach and water solution. <br />6. Carefully put all towels and gloves in a plastic bag, tie it off, <br />then contact 3E Company for discard instructions. <br />7. Wash hands thoroughly in warm water and soap. <br />8. Dispose of the used/soiled cleaning solution in the janitor's <br />mop sink. <br />9. Allow area to air dry.
