Secondary Containment Assessment <br />The secondary containment for the waste oil storage tank and for all the <br />other types of lubricant storage tanks used by this business is provided by <br />the below grade service bay where all of the tanks are located. A trench <br />drain is located on the floor of the service bay, which is routed to an oil - <br />water separator. <br />Volume Calculation 66264.193(e)(1)(A) <br />The dimensions of the below grade service bay are: <br />38.5' L x 26.3' W x 8' D <br />The volume of this space is 8,093 Ft3 or 60,535 gallons <br />Design of tank: 66264.193(e)(3) <br />The waste oil storage tank is of single wall construction, fabricated of <br />welded 9 gauge carbon steel as detailed in Attachment "A". No corrosion <br />protection is provided for the inner surfaces and none is required due to <br />the petroleum based contents. External corrosion protection is provided by <br />a coating of primer and enamel paint. A level indication device is installed. <br />An audible high level alarm is also installed. When tested during the <br />inspection, it was in good working order. <br />A daily documented inspection is performed which will detect any leaks <br />within 24 hours per 22CCR66265.1920)(3). <br />The combined volume of the tank and ancillary equipment: <br />1,000 gallons (primary) + 28 gallons (ancillary equipment) = 1,028 gallons <br />The secondary containment capacity of 60,535 gallons will contain 100% <br />of the tank capacity and ancillary equipment. This meets the requirement <br />specified in 22CCR66265.1920)(1). <br />Visual inspection of containment area: 66264.193(e)(2) <br />The service bay cinder block walls and concrete floor are in good <br />condition with no crack, gaps or damage.
