The CUF recommends that the EHD direct the Responsible Party (RP)
to conduct focused soil and groundwater remediation to reduce hydrocarbon mass in the source
area and achieve water quality objectives (WQOs) in a timely manner.
The EHD concurs with the CUF recommendation . Between 14 August and 10 October 2013, an
insitu chemical oxidation pilot test comprised of four injection events was conducted that
appears to have had favorable results; the consultant recommended extending the pilot test for
an additional four injection events. The EHD is of the opinion that the site is well enough
characterized that a corrective action plan should be submitted and approved to implement the
technology. The EHD will issue such a directive.
If the EHD can be of further service to you , your requests, questions and/or comments should
be directed to Angelica Marin at (209) 468-2807 or to Nuel Henderson at (209) 468-3436 .
Sincerely,
Nuel Henderson , PG
Engineering Geologist
C: Angelica Marin , EHD
2013 Review Summary Report Response CUF Claim No 1696. doc
