0
Page 2, 2050 Fremont St.
SJC/EHD approves the installation of one onsite shallow groundwater monitoring well
located down gradient to MW-15. SJC/EHD believes this well should be placed midway
between MW4 and MW-6 , and further east than the location proposed in the Study.
SJC/EHD approves the installation of one deep groundwater monitoring well proposed near
MW-5 , but it should be located on the southeast side of MW-5 in the predominant
groundwater flow direction. This well should be screened in the sand unit present at
approximately 109- 120 feet bsg based on cone penetrometor test boring CPT-8. Soil and
grab groundwater samples should be collected during the drilling of the borehole for this well
at depths of 85- 100 feet below surface grade (bsg) to confirm the analytical results and the
lithological profile from CPT-8.
SJC/EHD approves the installation of one groundwater extraction well to perform a pumping
test, and to collect soil and groundwater samples to assess for baseline conditions and to
conduct an ozone infusion bench scale test.
SJC/EHD approves discontinuing analysis for tentatively identified compounds . Quarterly
analysis should continue for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene, toluene,
ethyl benzene , xylenes, fuel oxygenates , 1 ,2-dichloroethane and ethylene dibromide by
appropriate EPA approved laboratory methods .
Please proceed with submittal of a work plan for the approved work. The work plan is due no
later than November 9 , 2007 .
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environmental Health Department
ce
Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Nuel C.
