WESTERN' GEOLOGIC RESOURCES , INC .
4 ANALYTIC RESULTS
4.1 SOIL SAMPLES
_ Analytic results for soil samples are presented in Table 1. Cham(-of-custody forms and
laboratory reports (including laboratory QA/QC reports) are included as Appendices E and F,
respectively.
TPPH,characterized as gasoline, were present in the 293 ft and 65-5 ft samples collected from
boring"s B-1 at 2,800 ppm and 5,2M ppm, respectively. Aramatio hydrocarbons were also detected ire
10 ppm and up to 570 ppm xylenes. The soil sample collected at 59.0
these samples with benzene up to
ft from boring B-3 contained 0.(105 ppm xylenes. TP
PH and aromatic hydrocarbons were not detected
in the soil samples from borings B-24. The soil sample collected at 67.1 ft from boring B-2 and
I'. the 67.2 ft sample from boring B-3 contained 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) at 0.007 ppm and 0.005
r ppm,respectively.
4.2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
are presented in Table 2. Chain-of-custody forms,
Analytic results for groundwater samples
laboratory reports and laboratory quality control documents are included as Appendices E and G,
respectively.
TPPH,characterized as gasoline, were detected in the groundwater samples from well MW-
1,located near the former underground storage tank, ranging from 260,1)00 parts per-billion(ppb)M
750,000 ppb, The highest concentration was detected in the groundwater sample collected on 31 August
1989 prior to proper well development and therefore analytic results may not be representative of the
groundwater quality beneath the site.
'TPPH,as gasoline,was ado detected at 260 ppb and 300 ppb for 1
duplicate analysis of the sample collected from well MW-3, located at the northwest corner of the
property. TPPH was not detected in the samples from wells MW-2,located near the northeast corner
of the building,or MW-4,located on the southeast part of the property, and in the trip blank.
}1r. Benzene at 32,000 ppb and comparable toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylene concentrations
were detected in the sample From well MW-1, collected on 29 September 1989. That sample also
-- contained 1,2-DCA at 2,100 ppb and ethylene dibromide at 600 ppb. Low concentrations of benzene
a¢12 ppb and 3.0 ppb were detected in duplicate analysis of the sample collected from well MW-3 an
29 September 1989. Low concentrations of toluene, total xylenes and 1,2-DCA were also iepoited for
those samples. The sample collected on 7 September 1989 from well MW-2 contained a trace of e-'--
benzene and 16 ppb 1,2 DCA. 1,2-DCA was only detected in the sample from well for the 29
5
066RIN09
fl?
.ASS+ •
