ARCADIS Mr. James L.L. Barton, <br />P. G. <br />May 11, 2009 <br />Management in Kettleman Hills, California. The Certificate of Disposals is included <br />as Attachment 1. <br />System Decommissioning Activities <br />On April 1, 2009 Siemens Water Technologies Inc. (Siemens) of Red Bluff, <br />California, under the supervision of ARCADIS, removed the three 2,000 -pound <br />granular activated carbon (GAC) vessels including spent carbon. <br />Between April 6 and April 9, 2009, Cornerstone Environmental Inc. (Cornerstone) of <br />Lafayette, California, under the supervision of ARCADIS decommissioned the <br />remedial system. All conveyance piping associated with the remedial system was <br />capped and grouted in place. All electrical connections were permanently de - <br />energized by the City of Lodi. All equipment associated with the system (e.g. carbon <br />vessels, pumps, oxidizer, blower, etc.) was removed from the site. All permits <br />associated with the system (i.e. air and groundwater discharge permits) were <br />cancelled with the issuing agencies. <br />All activities as required by Cleanup and Abatement Order (CAO) No. 5-00-704, <br />dated April 20, 2000 have now been completed.
