If a spill enters a floor or storm drain local utilities should be notified immediately. For small <br />spills, all Waste materials and used absorbents will be contained in a clearly marked clean container (i.e. <br />drum, barrel, sturdy bag); If the used Waste and clean up supplies are generated from a acid spill or alkaline <br />spill (for battery spills segregate acids from alkaline Waste) the container should be labeled "Used Clean Up <br />Supplies and Absorbent Materials from Lead Acid Spill" OR "Used Clean -UP Supplies and Absorbent <br />Materials from Alkaline Battery Spill", as applicable (place a completed Hazardous Waste Label on the <br />container and indicate if the Waste is Acid Battery Waste or Alkaline Battery Waste). If the leak/release is <br />beyond the persons capabilities, they will call 9-1-1 immediately. In the event of a fire attempt to contain <br />and extinguish with the hand held fire extinguisher and call 9-1-1 immediately for assistance <br />
