S E C O R
2.3.1 Department of Water Resources Survey
On March 15, 1999, G -R conducted a Department of Water Resources (DWR) file review in an
attempt to located domestic and municipal wells within a '/2 -mile radius of the site (G -R,
Monitoring Well Installation Report, dated June 2, 1999). G -R identified one municipal well
(Well 12) within the '/2 -mile radius (Figure 2). G -R also identified a municipal approximately
3,100 feet south of the site (City of Lodi Well 18); however, pumping at the well appears to
influence flow directions at the site as discussed in Section 3.7. A table and figure (provided by
G -R) depicting well search results can be found in Appendix C.
2.3.2 Door -to -Door Survey
A door-to-door sensitive receptor survey was performed within a 1 -block radius of the former
Chevron facility on July 12 and 13, 2000 by a SECOR representative to identify domestic wells
not listed in agency databases. A total of two businesses and 95 residences were approached
during the sensitive receptor survey. Occupants were not at home at time of the door-to-door
survey in fifty-five of the residences. At these locations, an envelope was placed in the doorway
containing a blank Water Supply Well Location Survey Form, explanation letter, and a self
addressed and stamper! envelope. Four of the residences responded to the survey by mail.
During the survey, both of the businesses and 44 of the residential participants indicated there
was no domestic well on the property. The survey did not identify domestic water wells within a
one -block radius of the subject site.
3.0 REGIONAL SETTINGS
3.1 Climate
The City of Lodi area is located in the San Joaquin Valley and has a climatic region that is
characterized by hot summers and moderate winters. Average annual precipitation is 17.5
inches.
3.2 Surface Water Hydrology
Mokelumne River, located on the north boundary of the City of Lodi, generally flows from west
to east. River stage information is collected by the California Department of Water Resources
using data collection points (river stage gauges) located at various points on the river.
In the vicinity of the site and in the City of Lodi area, surface water runoff moves both laterally,
and downward, as a result of infiltration, in areas that have no artificial surface covering (asphalt
or concrete). Stormwater catch basins collect water in areas that are covered with an artificial
surface.
95775 NFAR REPORT Final.doc 5 SECOR tntematlona! Incorporated
