SUMMARY OF SPILL PROCEDURES <br />All employees shall go through a training program and shall become familiar with this spill <br />contingency plan as well as the Company Policy Procedure Book. <br />2. When a spill occurs store employees shall immediately: <br />a) Evacuate all customers from the spill area and close the area off from traffic. <br />b) Begin immediate spill containment and clean up methods presented on page 8 of <br />this report. <br />C) Call 1-800-388-0983 EXT. -6640 or EXT -6725 at corporate headquarters to report <br />the accident, the severity and actions being taken to clean up. If the spill is of a <br />magnitude where additional help is required to clean up the spill or public safety is <br />involved secure home office approval to call 911 or the local fire department or the <br />law enforcement whichever is available. These numbers are listed in Appendix "A° <br />of this report. <br />d) Should the spill require private emergency response clean up crews, secure <br />corporate approval to call one of the companies listed in Appendix "A" for additional <br />assistance. <br />3. On all spills over 25 gallons of petroleum products the owner or operator shall immediately <br />report the incident to the State Agency reporting entity listed on page 5 of this report. <br />4. Spills of 210 gallons or greater are classified as reportable spills by Federal regulations <br />and shall be immediately reported s listed ohn National <br />ge 5 Reshis oncereporCenter duty officer in <br />Washington, D.C. The numb P <br />5. Petroleum saturated SPC Booms or blankets shall be disposed of in a manner approved <br />by the state emergency reporting agency. <br />6. The cleaned up spill area shall be thoroughly washed down with water before allowing <br />motor vehicles back on the area. <br />CONTINUING FACILITY INSPECTION &SECURITY <br />1. Master flow & drain valves should be auto lock - closed to prevent spills. <br />2. Pump started controls have auto lock off. <br />3. Facility lighting should facilitate location and clean up of spills as well as deter vandalism. <br />4. Inspections: As a preventative manance procedure, the following must be regularly <br />inspected not less than once per eek. <br />A. Check all nozzles and hoses thoroughly for any obvious indications of wear and <br />tear and report findings to Love's Maintenance Department immediately if these <br />should be replaced ... do not wait for failure of the equipment to occur. <br />3 <br />
