could potentially be used as remedial wells. Borings MW -8C,
MW -IOC, and MW -19C will be converted into C -zone groundwater
monitoring wells.
Well %stsllation. Thirty (23) oxygen diffusion wells (OD -1 through OD -23),
one (1) extraction well (EX -3), eleven (11) groundwater monitoring wells
(MW -713, MW -SC, MW -9$,1 W -10C, MW -15, and MW -16B through
MW -18B, MW -19C, MW -20A, and MW -20B) will be installed in the locations
shown on Figure 3. Based on site groundwater data, the depth of the two (2) A --
zone wells is anticipated to be approximately 65 feet bgs. The depth of the six
(6) B -zone monitoring wells is anticipated to be approximately 90 feet bgs. The
depth of the three (3) C -zone groundwater monitoring wells is anticipated to be
up to approximately 140 feet bgs. The depth of the twenty-three (23) oxygen
diffusion wells is anticipated to be approximately 100 feet bgs. The depth of the
one (1) groundwater extraction well is anticipated to be approximately 80 feet
bgs.
Soil Analysis. Selected soil samples (primarily those collected from borings
converted into groundwater monitoring wells near or at the top of the water -
bearing zones, and -near or at the bottom of the borings) will be submitted to a
California State -certified laboratory and analyzed for the presence of total
petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as gasoline (TPHg), toluene, ethylbenzene,
xylenes (BTEX compounds), and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), ethylene
dibromide (EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA),
di -isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ELBE), tertiary amyl methyl
ether (TAME), ethanol, and methanol by EPA Methods 5015, 8020, and 5260.
Groundwater Well Development, Surveying, and Sampling. Upon
completion of well installation, the wells will be developed by surging as
described in Attachment E. A licensed surveyor will survey the well elevations
relative to a known benchmark. Groundwater levels in the wells will be
measured and groundwater samples will be collected from the wells upon
completion of well development.
a Groundwater Analysis. Groundwater samples collected from the groundwater
monitoring wells will be submitted to a California State -certified laboratory and
analyzed for the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as gasoline
(1'PHg), toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX compounds), and methyl tertiary
butyl ether (MtBE), ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA),
tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di -isopropyl ether (D1PE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether
(EtBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethanol, and methanol by EPA
Methods 8015, 5020, and 8260.
